Progenitor
The earliest known name bearer is Josef Lorber (around 1777-1855) from Kolleschowitz in Bohemia, today Kolešovice in the Czech Republic.
Werdegang
The master saddlery Emil Karl Lorber (1875-1945) emigrated from Kolleschowitz in 1891 or again after a short return in 1904 from Oberklee to the USA and died in New Brunswick, New Jersey.
Outstanding biographies
- Emil Lorber (1902-1980), born in Oberklee, grew up and died in New Jersey;
- Hugo Lorber ( 1976) came to Landshut after the expulsion of the Sudeten Germans.
Spread today
Die Lorber dieses Zweiges scheinen heute wohl vor allem in den USA, vor allem in New Jersey zu leben. Möglicherweise auch einige im Raum Landshut in Bayern.
