Offshoot of the Lorber migrated to the right side of the Rhine Ebersheim.
Progenitor
Johann Jacob Lorber (1729-1798) was born in Kogenheim, where his father Martin, a native of Ebersheim, had married. In 1750 he married Anna Catharina Wieber (1728-after 1770) from Kappel am Rhein and became a host at the Gasthaus zur Linde.
Werdegang
An above-average number of landlords came from this branch. A tradition that continues in part to this day.
(Franz) Anton Lorber (1757-1806), first innkeeper to the ox in Grafenhausen, later innkeeper in Neuried near Munich and direct ancestor of the New low branch;
Jakob Lorber the Elder (1764-1819) probably owned three taverns in Kappel, the Lindenwirt, the innkeeper for the Green Tree and the Stubenwirt, some of which he passed on to his sons;
Jakob Lorber the Younger (1795-1846), lion host in Kappel;
Joseph Lorber (1800-1865), parlor owner in Kappel;
Jakob Lorber III. (1827-1896), brewer and host to the sun in Kappel;
Franz Joseph Lorber (1830-1892), lion host in Kappel;
Wendelin Lorber (1848-1902), bricklayer, went back to Alsace on the other side of the Rhine;
Josef Lorber (1902-?), Host to the sun and master blacksmith in Kappel;
Emil Lorber (1925-1999), innkeeper at the Gasthaus zum Schiff in Kappel, which is still run by his daughter Ruth;
Max Lorber (* around 1929), innkeeper in the Kartäuserstube in Freiburg
Spread today
To this day descendants can be found in the double town of Kappel-Grafenhausen and probably also in other areas of Baden, probably also in the Strasbourg region.
